Text Message (SMS) Program

Order Local, LLC — last updated 08-01-2026

Order Local, LLC operates a local ordering and pickup platform for small businesses ("Vendors") — bakers, makers, growers, florists, and similar producers. This page describes our text messaging program in full: who receives messages, exactly where and how they consent, what the messages say, how often they arrive, and how to stop them.

All of our text messages are transactional. They relate to an order the recipient placed, a custom order request the recipient submitted, or — for Vendors — an order that came into the recipient's own storefront. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not text anyone who has not given us their mobile number for one of those purposes.

2. How People Opt In

There are three places a mobile number can be given to us, and each one displays a consent disclosure directly beneath the phone field. Providing a phone number is optional in all three; an order can be placed, and an account can be run, without one. The disclosures below are reproduced verbatim from the live forms.

A. Customer checkout on a Vendor storefront

Every Vendor has a public storefront at {vendor}.getorderlocal.com. A Customer adds items to the cart and enters their contact details on the cart page — no account or login is required. The Phone field is optional and is labeled "for order updates (optional)". The consent disclosure sits immediately below it and is always visible.

By providing your number you agree to receive order status texts about this order. Msg frequency varies by order. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Live example — no login required: open https://baker-bros.getorderlocal.com/catalog, add any item to the cart, then open https://baker-bros.getorderlocal.com/cart. The Phone field and the consent text above appear under "Your details". An item must be in the cart for the checkout form to render.

B. Custom order request form

Vendors who accept custom orders publish a public request form at {vendor}.getorderlocal.com/request. A Customer describes what they want and, optionally, leaves a phone number so the Vendor can text them the quote and payment reminders for that request. No account or login is required.

By providing your number you agree to receive texts about this request (quote, payment reminders). Msg frequency varies by request. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

C. Vendor account notification preferences

Vendors — the small business owners who sell on Order Local — can choose to be texted when a paid order comes into their own storefront. A Vendor must first add a mobile number to their account, then keep the New order texts preference enabled under Account → Notifications in their dashboard. The consent disclosure is displayed with the toggle, and the toggle can be switched off there at any time.

This screen sits behind a vendor login, so the screenshot below is provided for review. The screen is at app.getorderlocal.com/dashboard/account/notifications.

By keeping a mobile number on file with this turned on, you agree to receive text alerts from Order Local about your orders. Message frequency depends on your order volume. Msg & data rates may apply. Turn this off here at any time, or reply STOP to any text.

3. Sample Messages

Messages sent to Customers are sent on behalf of the Vendor the Customer ordered from, and are prefixed with that Vendor's business name. Messages sent to Vendors are prefixed with "Order Local".

4. Frequency

Message frequency varies with order activity — we send only when something happens on an order. A Customer typically receives between one and five messages for a given order (confirmation, a ready-for-pickup notice, and occasionally a cancellation, refund, quote, or payment reminder). A Vendor receives one message per paid order that comes into their storefront. There are no scheduled, recurring, or promotional sends.

5. Opting Out and Getting Help

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts to that number. You can also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. We record the opt-out and block future messages to that number across the entire platform, not just for the Vendor whose message you received.

Reply START (or YES or UNSTOP) to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@getorderlocal.com. Vendors can additionally turn text alerts off from Account → Notifications in the dashboard.

Opting out of text messages does not affect order confirmation emails, and it does not affect anyone's ability to place or receive orders.

6. Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Mobile numbers are shared only with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering the messages described on this page. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
